Hip-hopper Tela came busting out of Memphis in 1996 with a contract for the Suave House label (Eightball & MJG). First album Piece of Mind appeared in November of that year; Now or Never followed in late 1998, and World Ain't Enuff in fall 2000.

Zack de La Rocha is one of the biggest and most well-respected names in alternative music, known equally for his militant political activism and passionate vocal delivery. In the '90s he rose to fame as frontman for Rage Against the Machine and used that pedestal as a catalyst to further his left-wing political beliefs.
The group's album releases include the self-titled "Total Devastation" (1993) and "The Stone Age" (1999). They're best known for their single "Many Clouds of Smoke" off of their debut album. Total Devastation's lyrics glorify marijuana usage and promote the legalization of hemp and cannabis use in America.
A Bay Area rap duo formed at the beginning of the 1990s, RBL Posse (short for Ruthless By Law) was originally founded by Black C and Mr. Cee. The pair began producing tracks at Black C's studio and emerged in 1991 with the underground hit "Don't Give Me No Bammer.
