Pilate declares Jesus guilty of sedition and sentences Him to die by crucifixion. Jesus is led away to carry his cross out to Golgotha where he is nailed up to die.
"Father, forgive them - for they know not what they do."
Jesus is take to be judged by the Roman prelate, Pontius Pilate. After being questioned, He is sent to be flogged as a token punishment, while Pilate is still undecided on what to do with Him.
"All who can accept the truth, hear My voice."
Jesus is arrested and brought before the Sanhedrin to answer charges of blasphemy. He is condemned to death. Peter denies knowing him.
"And you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power..."
Matthew the taxcollector invites Jesus for dinner at his house with some of his friends. Jesus tells the story of prodigal sons and reconciles two longtime enemies.
"He was lost, and is found!"
The women go to the tomb only to dicover it is empty. Magdalene tells the disciples about seeing Jesus alive; they react with skeptism.
"Why do you look for the living among the dead?"
