This is me playing John Renbourn's "The Hermit." It's a beautiful piece and I'm sorry to say I messed up a few times on this take, but overall I'm happy with it.
The South Wind is another old piece from Ireland or Scotland. Pretty, too. The tuning is DADGBD, only a step down. For the Blarney Pilgrim I tuned the A string down to a G.
Enjoy.
a little while ago i was messing around and wrote an acoustic arrangement of this song. my video was going to be just me playing it, but it turned into a kind of lesson, so you guys can hear it, but also have me explain how it's played. then you can be as good as me (and dragonforce)!
here are some things i'm doing, trying to follow your tips. you've explained it MUCH more clearly than anything else i've been able to find. ideas? thoughts?
i wrote this song for my friend and teacher franklin, who taught me this style of finger picking a good 4 years ago. it taught me how to make simple music beautiful. i still use it regularly. thanks franklin!
