All clothing and styling is done by Watley - from vintage, to custom couture - this video stands the test of time, though filmed in 1989 - from an artist intent on setting her own mark. Fincher later went on to direct videos for Madonna as well as feature films.

From 'Affairs of the Heart' phase of her career, Watley wanted to show diversity in her vocal range and depth as an artist. This song was a nod to her spiritual upbringing being the daughter of a preacher. She was pregnant with her son during the filming.
