(March 13, 2007) Action recently on the Hazelhurst sub division has proven to be plentiful. I recently caught some BNSF action as well as Amtrak. The state patrol also appeared to be busy on this day as well. Special thanks to Chris M. (railtalk) who is operating the trains while I shot this video and is the owner of this layout. This layout is HO scale. NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY LAYOUT.
Complete with "defect detector audio" and "crew audio", Amtrak's 134 (GE P42DC) on the point of the "Empire Builder" meets BNSF 5612 (GE ES44AC) on the point of coal empties. Layout is HO scale.
(March 6, 2007) Some video of the March 6, 2007 meeting of the Northern Iron Horse Railroad Society (NIHRS) located in Bemidji, MN. Primary train running around on this evening was an Amtrak train brought in by club member Chris M. Layout is under construction and features two main lines, a small yard, and some industry as well as a tunnel. Layout is HO scale.
A busy afternoon/evening on the Staples Sub yielded numerous train spottings and three seperate trains on video at dusk on December 11, 2007. http://www.johnfladu ng.net
BNSF 8202 on the point of a coal train running through a Defect Detector at MP 93.0 on the GF Sub Division. Bemidji, MN. Clears with no defects. Featuring scanner audio.
Generally a common sight here at this location, another crew change by the CP takes place right in front of me. The train pulls in, then eventually departs with a new crew which continues heading east.
The UP Engineering Special moves through Saint Paul, MN on April 17, 2008. Power for this train was the UP 6936 (EMD DD40X). This was really fun to see despite the gloomy weather on this evening.
Railfanning in Newport, Minnesota on August 12, 2007. I caught three trains on video.
