I wasn't originally going to do this song, but after seeing a couple crappy covers be called the best...I just couldn't leave well be, so I gave it a shot. Ended up this song is great amazing fun to do and I am glad I did it
sometimes its annoying how little singing is in old sirenia...I also hope the next sirenia album has alot more male singing, the new chicks good and all, but I could have came to that conclusion without the whole damn album being 95% her voice
Its surprising to me how difficult it is to keep a consistant sound on the high range. Hope I can near perfect it like I've done with my lows before I damage my throat like I'm sure Kataklysm's singer does often...If you listen closely his highs are actually horrible, but with all the ambient sounds you don't hear the horrible vibrating
Fiori uses the contrast of his voices so well in his songs. I used to try and scream as hard as I could to try and copy his highs...makes me wonder what damage I've done to my throat since I started singing
After Mask of Flies I did House of Heroes. I'd say its one of the best album starting songs that will ever be made. Not to mention the melody makes you want to smash your head through many walls from its sheer awesomeness
After doing Vermillion I still felt like singing and had a bit of time left...so The islander came out of it. This is one of the best songs on this album
