After posting the "No More Milk" poem with Jimmy Stewart on Johnny Carson, people were asking to see the "Bo" poem. This is it.
(Note: It has been brought to my attention the proper spelling for Bo is actually Beau and the title has been duly corrected. Thanks all :)
An old group staple, Java Jive, is shown here as presented in a 1988 concert video that is interspersed with clips from several mid-1970s shows the group appeared in. Interesting to see the changes through the years!
The group performs Embraceable You for the Disney Channel concert aired in 1988 or 1989, 10 days after Janis' wedding. Featuring great performances by the Turtle Island String Quartet and sax-solo by Don Roberts
While hunting for other material from an old tape, I ran across this segment. For people who watched Carson regularly, you may recall Jimmy Stewart would show up with a poem from time to time. I got a kick out of those so I'm posting this little segment which I'm simply calling the "No More Milk (Blues)" Poem.
No full songs here. Features the group in various live settings performing (or appearing in); Birdland, Home Improvement, Sing Moten's Swing, Stomp of King Porter, Jeannine, Groovin', Soul Food To Go, A Tisket A Tasket, Choo Choo Ch'Boogie, Operator and Boy From New York City
The group makes a guest appearance on Tony Bennett's Christmas special from 1992. This is their segment of the show. They sing The Christmas Song acappella, join Tony and his family for short takes on a Christmas Auld Lang Syne and White Christmas
The Manhattan Transfer performed for Soundstage back in 1980. Part of this performance features Cheryl doing a solo of Parker's mood. I saw the show when it was broadcast, this piece was not a part of it but was packaged in the not "long-in-print" version that came out a couple of years later. Enjoy.
Janis performs an energetic Sleigh Ride in her solo performance at a concert in Germany, I believe it was 2004. This is another try to cleanup what was a poor upload in my previous attempt
