Apr 9 - U.S. stocks fell on Wednesday after oil touched a record $112 a barrel and a warning from United Parcel Service added to profit and economic jitters. The Dow fell 49 points to 12,527. The S&P 500 lost 11 points to 1,354. The Nasdaq shed 26 points to 2,322. Crude oil settled at record of $110.87 a barrel. Conway Gittens reports.
Feb. 15 - U.S. stocks finished slightly mixed with the Dow and Nasdaq dented by consumer worries. The Dow slipped 28 points to 12,348. The S&P 500 gained a point. The Nasdaq shed 10 points to 2,321.
Oil prices settled above $95 a barrel.

Jan 23 - Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic showed off models of a spaceship it hopes will take spacetravel mainstream. Trips will initially cost about $200,000 and will eventually go down in price. That's far less than the $20 million reported cost of businessman Dennis Tito's trip on a Russian spacecraft in 2001, considered the first space tourist. Bobbi Rebell reports.
Nov. 3 - The Dow inched 5 points lower to 9,319. The S&P 500 crept down 2 points to 966. The Nasdaq bucked the trend to rally for the fifth consecutive session, up 5 points to 1,726.
Jan 9 - Nuremberg zoo's last surviving polar bear cub is spending some time away from its mother Vera, after one of the zoo's female polar bears ate her own cub.The German zoo bowed to media and public pressure and decided to hand rear the polar bear cub.
Nov. 3 - Pakistan - the first stop for General David Petraeus as the new head of U.S. Central Command. The visit highlights American concern about a country seen as crucial to stability in Afghanistan and to defeating al- Qaeda.
Oct 21 - The tech heavy Nasdaq fell 4.1 percent ahead of key results from Apple and Yahoo.The Dow dropped 231 points to 9,033. The S&P 500 lost 30 points to 955. The Nasdaq posted a 73 point decline to 1,696.
