Psalm 121 - "I raise my eyes to the mountains" - this beautiful psalm of David calls on the protection and comfort of the Holy One, Ancient of Days.
This is given freely and b'simcha [with joy], for people to enjoy and take comfort from, and l'shem yichud Kudsha b'rich Hu [for the Sake of the Unification of the Holy Name.]
This is part of the "P'sukei d'Zimra" - "Verses of Song" - which is one of the sections of every day's morning prayer service.
I have emphasized Kabbalistic words in the translation; the tunes we are using were composed by the great Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach z'tzl, by way of Rabbi Hoffman, his student.
After learning the names of the letters, the next step is learning the double letters. This exercise imparts the usage of the double letters, and a vowel, needed for the exercise.
Next, we'll start learning the vowels, beginning with a more complete look at the patach.
