Who needs a Unimog when you can have a SUMB or Simca Marmon. A French Military truck with portal axles powered by a 4.2 litre V8 lots of fun for not toomuch money
More cab view footage of the Green Goddess, this time taken by an onboard cameraman. This footage was shot on the way to the marathon pumping session loaded under the heading " Green Goddess Pumping" here on Youtube. Its remarkable really how the video quality improves when the cameraman doesnt have to steer and double de clutch as well.
The expert camera work was done by Taliesin
Hello officer, what do you mean, hosepipe ban??
Seriously though, the Bedford Green Goddess doing what it does so well, pumping water, feeding three branches , look at them go!

Excerpts from the trip from Cardiff West to Taliesins place taken by two Green Goddesses, as filmed from the rearmost vehicle. These fifty year old trucks move pretty well for their age. The bangs aren't a misfire, they are the sound levelling software cutting in at the beginning of each clip, man it was loud.
Turn the sound right up to get the full effect.
The AFS (Abergwaun Fire Service) giving a demonstration of the Bedford Green Goddesses ability in the field, some gentle offroading, a taste of things to come??

More pumping from the AFS ( Abergwaun fire service)This really is quite impressive, I love the noise as the pump comes on load. I cant help remembering the quote from Ghostbusters "Dont cross the beams, because crossing the beams would be damgerous"

Yet another clip from the day we ran the Green Goddesses back to Ger Abergwaun. This time taken starting up again after stopping for "La bouffe Gauloise". The truck I was driving still would'nt start , so I had to bump it in reverse
Hydro, youre not joking! If your idea of fun is nearly drowning whilst plummeting earthwards at great speed then surely this is for you. Taken at Oakwood Wales UK in april 2008.... tell you what tho, its well worth going out of season, no queues at all.
Yet another clip from the day we ran the Green Goddesses back to Ger Abergwaun, you can tell by the road that the Romans didnt make it this far! Turn up the sound for the full effect. Seeing these old trucks at a show is OK , but seeing them on the road is better, the off road tyres whine loudly.
