a collection of photos i took in peru set to music by a local band i saw perform there. i'm not happy that i'm doing the "photos set to music" thing, but i'm still learning the software i'm using. i'll forgive myself this once.
sometimes if i sit down to play guitar with loki nearby, he'll help me play... apparently, this isn't the case when you're purposefully trying to capture him doing this on video...
here's how to find where north is on a clear night (and your gps dies) if you live in the northern hemisphere. unfortunately, there's no corresponding bright star for south in the southern hemisphere.
also, i realize the big and little dippers are asterisms and not constellations, but it's very difficult for most people to see ursa major and ursa minor (the big and little bears).
thanks to some guidance from a fellow khoomei enthusiast, i finally have it! there's still a lot of work to do, but now i know what it feels/sounds like. i promise, i won't post any more of these until i can actually perform a song with it.
thanks again, dw.
video of comet mcnaught (c/2006 p1) setting on 12 january 2007 with still shots of the comet interspersed. the planet venus also makes an appearance for comparison.
note: i checked the ephemeris and comet mcnaught actually reached perihelion on the day this was shot.
i've been thinking about what tool songs might make a transition to an a capella arrangement. this is a trial for getting a feel for at least what the lead vocals would sound like. okay, i had some fun with it...
why don't we launch this defunct spy satellite into the sun? in fact, why don't we launch all our trash into the sun? this video gives a good reason why it's not physically possible.
i use windows movie maker. isn't that nuts? no, i'm not going to get a mac. no. just no. stop asking. yes, i know os x has an underlying unix shell. look, just shut up about getting a mac, okay?
every effect in this vid was done with windows movie maker. i think i may have overloaded it at the end causing a bit of un-syncing with the audio. oops.
baby's got the bends.
clio had to be spayed last week. she's fine once she's out of her cage, but she's downright mean when you try to get her out. i hope she stops this aggressive behavior once she heals.
in which i accompany myself, first laying down the kargyraa (bass) track, then adding the sygyt (whistle) track... i had to pump it through so much editing that the video ended up a bit pixel-ly... hopefully the audio still sounds good... well, good if you're a fan of khoomei...
