This was Sir Simon Rattle's farewell concert with the CBSO, who served as their Music Director for 18 years.

Written for the opening of Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the premiere performance of Soundings by John Williams, the composer conducts the LA Philharmonic, October 2003.
