I stripped Xandros from my Eee PC's main memory and installed Windows XP. I've also got Xubuntu installed on an SD card, so I decided to show how quickly you can boot into either environment. Not bad for a device with a 900MHz celeron processor (underclocked to 630MHz) and 512MB of RAM.

The HP 2133 Mini-Note and Asus Eee PC both take about 60 seconds to boot Windows XP SP3.
The Eee PC 701 is running at 900MHz (I overclocked it), while the Mini-Note has a 1.2GHz VIA processor.

The HP Mini-Note running OpenSUSE takes about 1:30 to startup. It takes pretty much the same amount of time to boot into eeeXubuntu on an Asus Eee PC -- when Ubuntu is installed on an SD card, and requires some user intervention
This is just a quick little movie I put together with our digital camera, Windows Movie Maker and the cat dancer (essentially a piece of wire with some cardboard on the end -- the best cat toy ever).
