This is the song "Jacks Lament" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas", performed live in front of a jury at the Royal College of Music (KMH), Stockholm 071130, as part of my mid-term exams. (to test if I could accompany myself and sing a song). It was arranged for the piano and performed by me, and I just thought I´d share it with all my fellow Elfman-fans. Enjoy!

At first I was going to record the entire suite of 4 movements, but I felt that the third was the most interesting, so I decided to start with that. The 1st and 2nd just don´t translate that well to the piano (the original is played on an organ as you all know). Though I might record the 4th one later, that one´s fun to play!

Here is my interpretation of this beautiful piece. I was going to record this at school, but I´m just too lazy to go in right now...so my piano at home will have to do. It actually plays pretty well with this jazzy kind of piece.
BTW, since the sheet music said "ad lib", I´m playing it pretty freely, just so you know:-)

This little piece is a lot of fun to play. The real challenge is finding a tempo that sounds good. I´m actually trying to hold it back in this video, because if you play it TOO fast, it becomes less pleasant to listen to.
