Shinya Kasatani has developed PocketGuitar, a native iPhone virtual guitar. Available on Installer by adding http://podmap.net/ap ps as a source under toys. Having failed at using a recorder in elementary school, I can't quite comment on the application itself but do check out the screenshots below.

kurenai , using the iPod Touch app "pocketGuitar".
A little bit messy... messing on kurenai brings me back memories from the good old days LOL (kurenai is the first "full song" I ever learnt on guitar...)
And yeah, you may see that vid as a kind of tribute to hide as it's the 10th anniversary today :(
