Their follow-up to "Come and Get These Memories", "Heat Wave" was an even bigger hit for Martha & The Vandellas. The song went to #4 on the Pop and #1,R&B for 1963. It was nominated for a Grammy, but did lost to Ray Charles. This song is considered by some to be the beginning of the Motown Sound with it's driving rhythm and its Gospel-Pop style singing and harmonies.
