The Jinshanling section of the Great Wall is around 100km to the north from Beijing. From Jinshanling to Simatai section there is around 10km and this is probably the most beautiful and the least crowded (2005) section of the Wall.

Old sections of the wall at both Jinshanling & Gubeikou (we visited Gubeikou first but Jinshanling clip included first here as it's short!)....Gubeikou film footage is a little lengthy but you do get to see close-ups of the wall, especially where it becomes narrow!

Jinshanling - Great Wall Cable Car

This is the cable car to the Great Wall at Jinshangling. It was extremely hot that day (about 40 degrees Celcius) so we decided to cheat and take the cable car to skip the first part. Although it created a nice Chinese atmosphere, the music in the cable car towers could be heard miles away on the wall itself, which was a bit of a shame.
