I love 'em both, but this is the one you'll never hear played today. When Top 40 stations were playing Steam's version, this is what MOR stations chose, and I'm glad they did; this version (from the album, "Colours Of Love") is far superior. Hugo Montenegro was a master at not only incredible incidental music, but new and interesting arrangements of existing pop music. This very pretty song was written by John Denver and sung by Mary Travers of the folk group, Peter, Paul & Mary. It just doesn't get much better than this. While Melanie's gritty, organic performance works well for many of her songs, the sweet, polished sound of the NS is more appropriate for a song like this, IMO.
