In 1960 Daytona Superspeedway hosted this sportsman race. 68 cars entered into the race, back then there were a maximum of 68 cars in a superspeedway race. Coming out of turn four 37 cars get into a massive wreck where at least six cars get on their roofs. Amazingly, evryone walked away from this. A scary crash entering the tri-oval that sent Neil Bonnet flipping over into the catch fence. This was Neil's first race since he was seriously injured at Darlington three years earlier, and any kind of head trama could have killed him. He was lucky to walk away alive. He literally tapped his eyes opened and some how managed a seventh place finnish. Big wrecks, angry drivers, and a photo finish to top it off, Carl Edwards almost wrecked Dale Jarrett on the back straightaway. That is why the two traded blows. Earnhardt some how maintained car control to finish seventh. Meanwhile there was an amazing 5-car battle for the lead where the margin of victory was a mere fourteen one-thousands of a second.
