Gibson 335 vs. Epiphone DOT

I'm comparing a Gibson 335 to an Epiphone DOT. I'm not sure how old the Gibson is... it's at least 20 years old. The Epiphone is only a couple years old, and it has the stock pickups in it. I'm playing through a Roland Cube 30.

Peavey Valve King 212

Me noodling through my Peavey Valve King 212 with Eminence Man-O-War speakers. I was unhappy with the harsh, brash sound of the amp until I put a Boss GE-7 EQ in the effects loop and cut 1.6K almost completely. It really smoothed out the tone quite a bit and is a lot closer to the Marshall sound I like. I am playing my Epiphone Les Paul Studio with Gibson Burstbucker PRO pickups.

Demonstration of my Epiphone '56 re-issue gold top Les Paul. I replaced the stock P90 pickups with Seymour Duncan STK-P1 P90s. The advantage being that the new pickups are hum-cancelling.
